UK House of commons vote overwhelmingly in support of recognizing Palestine State

The UK parliament late Monday voted overwhelmingly in support of the right of the Palestine to
have their own state. 274 members voted YES while only 12 members voted NO. The motion was a non binding motion that states ; "That this House believes that the Government should recognize the state of Palestine alongside the state of Israel as a contribution to securing a negotiated two-state
solution.".

The vote is only symbolic and will most probably have no effect on the UK governments' policy towards the Palestine as stated yesterday by the UK prime ministers' spokesman.

The UK prime minister also stated yesterday that the prime minister will abstain from the vote.
